On June 11, 1997 the DJIA closed at 7,575 points. Over 11 years later on November 20, 2008 the DJIA closed lower than that mark at 7,552 points.

As of November 20, 2008, the DJIA has fallen 5,712.23 points or -43% since Jan 1, 2008.
The facts were right there in front of us, and for anyone else who cared to pay attention. Our own investment strategy wasn’t working, and it is no wonder when you look at the numbers.
